Kelly G. Chelena Fine Art

A Painters Spirit I became an abstract painter when the background of my work became more important than the subject I was painting. Oils were my preferred medium for years but I turned to acrylics in 2022. Color plays an important role in my work. Intuitive layering of paint and marks remain a focus. Large watercolor pieces allow me to be quick and expressive. There is a relationship between one mark and another. The marks often resemble written language. Many of these pieces have an Asian aesthetic.

Blue Blossom Floral Apothecary (inside Art MoB)

Blue Blossom Floral Apothecary has launched a new monthly exhibition series, Artist and Blooms, in collaboration with Art MoB Studios and Marketplace. Each month will feature a current gallery artist accompanied by a floral art presentation designed by Simone Wood. For the collaboration, artists are invited to share their stories and images of new work they have created during the pandemic. “Both Michele Sparks, owner of Art MoB, and I wanted to give the artists inspiration to keep being creative and to promote them in a different way,” says Wood.

Glass Dragon Studio

Stained glass is an art form that has been around for centuries and is still popular. In our beginner classes, students will be taught the proper methods to “cut” glass (which we call scoring), how to break it to keep the shape you want, and how to put your finished pieces together to create a pleasing whole. The beginner class is ALL INCLUSIVE, meaning all materials, tools and supplies are included in the price of the class. Our classes are scheduled to run for 3 weeks (6 classes) of about 3 hours each. We offer both afternoon and evening classes so you can fit them into your schedule.
